Professor David Jackson
David Jackson, FRCP, MSc, PhD, is Professor of Respiratory Medicine at King’s College London and Clinical Director for Guy’s Severe Asthma Centre at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London. Since 2024, he has also assumed clinical leadership of the Royal Brompton Asthma Service following the merger with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
Prof. Jackson’s research has centred on understanding the mechanisms of severe asthma, asthma exacerbations, and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA), with particular emphasis on the use of biologic therapies to refine disease endotypes.
Prof. Jackson is chair of the Specialist Advisory Group for Asthma for the British Thoracic Society (BTS) and director of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Course on Eosinophilic Lung Diseases. He received the ERS Mid-Career Gold Medal in Asthma, is an associate editor of Thorax and Allergy, and co-edited the ERS Monographs on Eosinophilic Lung Diseases (2022) and Asthma (2025).
